A man from Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur reportedly died by suicide by jumping in front of a freight train on June 7. Identified as Anand Dewangan, the deceased cited his broken marriage as the reason behind taking this extreme step in a video message.
He also posted the video on YouTube, talking in detail about his failed marriage and his wife leaving him.
“My name is Anand Dewangan, and today I am going to die.” He mentioned that he got married on November 27, 2024, and his wife left him on March 25, 2025, only four months after their marriage.
In the nearly 30-minute-long video, he also made serious allegations against his wife and in-laws.
“My wife has left me. We got married on 27 November 2024. On 25 March 2025, she left me. Not even four months had passed. She left under the influence of her mother and sisters,” he was heard saying in the video.
He added that despite consulting the lawyers, he couldn’t get any help.
“Everyone said that in today’s law, the girl’s side is strong. No matter how much evidence there is, the case will remain weak. There is no guarantee that the wife will come back. The in-laws used to call my wife 20 to 30 times and fill her mind with garbage,” he said.
“In such a situation, which girl would want to live with her husband and in-laws. I, my mother and father live in our house. No one ever stopped her. For two months, I even took her out. In the four months of marriage, she was never stopped about her clothes,” he added.
He also mentioned that a day before dying by suicide, he spoke to her wife for the last time, but she said she won’t come back.
“I have no other option except suicide. There is no law, no system, no society, no one else to listen. Everyone only listens to the girl. “I am also sad; I am also in trouble,” he said.
He also mentioned that his wife went through an abortion.
“She herself told her mother that she is pregnant, and if she stays here, she will get trapped. She left my house abusing me and my parents. Now I have no way left to live. I am taking this step now. I request everyone to understand my pain. I am very helpless,” he concluded.
A further investigation into the matter is underway.
