Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed condolences over the plane crash in Ahmedabad that left at least 133 people dead. The PM said that the tragedy in Ahmedabad is “heartbreaking beyond words.” PM Modi will visit the crash site on Friday.
“The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us. It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected,” PM Modi wrote on X.

After the incident, PM Modi spoke to Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. He has asked them to go to Ahmedabad and ensure all possible assistance is extended to those affected in the wake of the air mishap.
Shah later visited the Ahmedabad crash site and met the injured at the hospital.

Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Deadliest Passenger Aircraft Accidents In India Over The Years
The Boeing aircraft, which could be seen losing altitude quickly, crashed in the Meghaninagar area near the Ahmedabad International Airport.
“The flight, which departed from Ahmedabad at 1338 hrs, was carrying 242 passengers and crew members on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Of these, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals,” the carrier said on X.
Thick black smoke could be seen billowing for miles around. Some camera crews accessed the crash area and showed visuals of the wreckage. Emergency responders were engaged in rescue, evacuation, and firefighting operations.
