A helicopter crash in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district killed all seven on board, including five pilgrims, a child, and the pilot.

A tragic helicopter crash occurred in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district early Sunday, killing all seven people on board, including five adult pilgrims, a 23-month-old child, and the pilot, while en route from Kedarnath Dham to Guptkashi.
According to Rudraprayag District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar, the accident took place above the forests of Gaurikund amid poor visibility due to bad weather.
The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) said the crash site is in a highly remote location, making rescue operations challenging. NDRF and SDRF teams have been dispatched to the location to carry out relief and rescue efforts.
The helicopter operated by Aryan Aviation Pvt Ltd crashed and caught fire between Gaurikund and Trijuginarayan in the Kedarghati area, sources reported.
In a post on X, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that a helicopter has crashed and the State Disaster Response Force and other agencies are engaged in relief and rescue operations.
The State Disaster Response Force informed that rescue teams were immediately dispatched under the direction of SDRF Commander Arpan Yadav. The incident spot was located in a very inaccessible and dense forest area, where a fast-paced and coordinated rescue operation was carried out by the joint teams of SDRF, NDRF, and local police.
The incident comes days after an Air India flight to London crashed in Ahmedabad, killing 241 people on board and several others on the ground.
